Episode 1 - The Big Idea

A co-operative themed tune written by Greg O’neill and Hazel Corcoran titled, “The Big Idea”. These two people are active in the Canadian Co-operative Movement. Greg is a Co-op Developer in the NWT and Hazel works with the Canadian Worker Co-op Federation. This tune was brought to us here in Victoria during our 1st annual Building Co-operative Futures conference in 2003. Greg is releasing it on a new CD due out this year. we'll keep you posted. Episode 2 - State Lottery

A tune by Propaghandi. Propagandhi is a political punk rock/thrash band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1986 by Chris Hannah and Jord Samolesky. Known for championing left-wing causes and standing up against human rights violations, the band's political attitude includes anti-racism, anti-homophobia, anti-imperialism, anti-fascism, and anti-capitalism. Episode 3 - Marim-Bam-Buzz

Marim-Bam-Buzz is a co-operaative marimba band hailing from Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Information on the history of Marim-Bam-Buzz, facts about the marimba instrument, and an Internet download of some music by Marim-Bam-Buzz can be found here.

Episode 6 - Lonny Potter

The song featured at the end of this episode of Each for All: The Co-operative Connection was called Goodwill Come. This song was written by Vancouver Island artist Lonny Potter, and has also been featured on CBC Radio 3. To read about Lonny and find links to more of his music click here.

Episode 7 - War Party

War Party is Canada's premiere native hip hop group. Started in 1995 they continue to achieve success and gain popularity. In 2001 War Party became the first native rappers to appear on Much Music Rap City, Going Coastal and The Down Low (Da Mix). The Feeling Reserved video also went on to win the 2002 Canadian Aboriginal Music Award for Best Music Video. To read more about the War Party follow this link.

Episode 13 - K'Naan

K'Naan is a talented hip-hop artist who was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, right as the civil unrest in the country was beginnning. K'Naan would listen to hip-hop records sent to him by his father in America when he wasn't trying to avoid death in his home country. He came to North America when he was 13 with the rest of his family. K'naan uses his talent to educate the western world and bring change for the people he left behind. The song featured at the end of this episode of Each For All: The Co-operative Connection was called "Hardcore". The song takes a stab at western MC's who believe their circumstances and way of life is "What's Hardcore?".
