A special guest host joined us in the studio for this episode on Builder and Contractor Co-operatives. Triane Tambay is a friend of EFA host Lindsay Kearns, and the two of them have been discussing their desire to become tradespeople and established a worker co-op along with several friends of theirs who already have their Journey tickets. These conversations inspired them to seek out contractors who have already done just that: Formed trades-based co-operatives that meet the building, restoration, and renovation needs of the community while simultaneously providing members with supportive and sustainable employment. Answering Lindsay and Triane's questions on this topic are Arno Kahn of the Builders Commonwealth Cooperative Association in Duluth, Minnesota, Eryk Tusz-King from the EnerGreen Builders Co-op in Sackville, New Brunswick, and Don Scott of the Halifax Builders Co-operative in Nova Scotia. Are you interested in starting a worker co-operative?
