Angie "webchick" Byron

As many of our listeners know, I self identify as a computer nerd and love to explore the parallels between the Open Source development model and organizational models found in the social economy. At Open Web Vancouver 2009 I had a chance to interview a hero of mine. Angela "webchick" Byron is the Drupal 7 core maintainer. She is ultimately responsible for the source code for the latest major release of the über-popular website building software Drupal. She seems to approach this huge responsibility with humor, care and grace.

Community Bike Shops

As regular listeners may know, in Season 4 of Each For All, we had an episode that focused on collectively-run bicycle stores. Today we’re returning to that topic, with a closer look at the community side of things: The organizations featured in this episode are not profit-generating ventures but instead are driven by mandates that focus on developing cycling culture and promoting transportation education.

BC Co-op Association

The show starts off with a co-operative-themed folk song by Greg O'Neill, "The Big Idea". If you're accessing our free music-less podcast and would like to hear this tune, you can listen to it here.
